Frequently Asked Questions
General Fit & Scope
Who is Secured Online Solutions for?
Secured Online Solutions is designed for homeowners, families, remote workers, and small businesses that want better cybersecurity without enterprise complexity. You don’t need to be technical — our services are built to meet you where you are.
Is this only for businesses, or can home users benefit too?
Absolutely for home users. In fact, much of our work is focused on securing home networks, personal devices, and smart technology — areas that are often overlooked but increasingly targeted.
Do I need to be “good with computers” to use your services?
Not at all. Some clients are very tech-savvy, others are just starting to think about cybersecurity seriously. We adapt our guidance to your comfort level and explain things in plain language.
Do you work with higher-profile or more private households?
Yes. While we support everyday families, we also work with private individuals and their families who prefer a more discreet, hands-off approach to home cybersecurity.
In these cases, the focus is on continuity, privacy, and long-term oversight rather than one-time fixes. The goal is simple: things should work normally, feel quiet, and stay that way—without the household needing to think about it.
How The Service Works
Do you install software on my personal devices?
No. Our core protection operates at the network level, which means most security benefits are provided without installing software on every device. In higher service tiers, we may recommend tools, but nothing is installed without your knowledge and consent.
What does your entry-level Network Shield actually do?
Network Shield works at the router level to block dangerous websites before they reach your devices. When you click a link, it checks the destination against a constantly updated list of known threats like phishing sites, malware hosts, and scam infrastructure. If the site is flagged, the connection is stopped instantly.
This protection runs automatically across every device on your network — no apps, pop-ups, or interruptions. Most threats simply never reach you.
What it blocks (optional features vary):
• Malware distribution sites
• Fake login pages
• Malware infrastructure
• Deceptive ads and trackers
Can the protection be customized for my household or business?
Yes. Every network is different. We start with a strong baseline and then adjust filtering, allowances, and optional controls based on how your network is used and what matters most to you.
Privacy, Invasiveness & Trust
Do you monitor my activity or access my personal files?
No. We do not access personal files, read private communications, or monitor individual browsing activity. Our approach is intentionally non-invasive and designed to respect privacy.
Can you block specific types of content, like adult websites?
If desired, yes. Optional content filtering, including blocking specific categories or individual websites, can be configured based on your household’s needs. These controls are never enabled by default and are always discussed first.
Is this a “set it and forget it” solution?
Security works best when it adapts over time. While the network protection runs quietly in the background, we recommend ongoing updates, reviews, and guidance — especially as devices, accounts, and risks change.
Process & What Happens Next
What happens during the free consultation?
The consultation is a conversation, not a sales pitch. We’ll talk through your setup, concerns, and goals, answer questions, and help you understand what level of support — if any — makes sense for you.
Is there a contract or long-term commitment?
Yes — our services are provided under a Service Agreement and Terms of Service so expectations are clear for both sides. Services are billed month-to-month, not locked into multi-year commitments.
Either party may end the agreement with at least 14 days’ notice. We focus on earning long-term trust and retention through ongoing value and support, not forcing clients into rigid contracts.
What happens if I cancel my service?
If service is terminated, the network device and its current configuration remain with you. Ongoing updates, maintenance, and support from Secured Online Solutions will end unless a new agreement is signed. No partial refunds are issued for services already rendered.
